Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Riki storms back into the cafe. Dismas may have as well disappeared off the face of the earth, there was no trace of him anywhere. Frustrated, she plops down in a chair and stares moodily into the fireplace.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Throughout the cafe, a breeze seems to pick up from no-where in particular, dragging dust moets and small leaves towards a central point, where it seems to circle around idly. After a few moments, what on first inspection appear to be strange runic symbols appear in a circle about a metre across. On second inspection, they would appear to be numbers and their mirror images stuck together. As they appear, the wind picks up into a veritable tornado, pulling the dust up with it. Within, a shadow-y figure forms roughly 6 feet off the ground.
When the dust dies away, the figure manages to cough and splutter his way toa sitting position. Though the layering of dust, he looks remarkably like Hayate, although the angst-filled messenger hasn't been known to be big on the torn-jeans-and-grubby-t-shirt fashion style. With a slight wince, he stumbles over to the bar and grabs a bottle of mineral water |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Pax meanders into the cafe without his swishing robes today- instead it is the jingling of chain mail beneath his vest and the regular swish-swish of a golden scaled tail being dragged across the floor in his wake. Without those billowing robes, the golden scales covering and creeping up his flesh are clearly visible along his arms, collarbone, and perhaps even up his neck and down his chest. A pair of tiny membranous wings adourn his spine, though, after a poor decision made in the battle arena. So, fatigued and somewhat frustrated (due to the perplexing problem of not being able to fully rid himself of his useless wings yet), Pax unceremoniously sprawls out on an old couch with a jingling of his chain links, and a cloud of dust wafting out from sofa cushions that had suffered long disuse.

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Unconsious for quite some time now. Dominic wakes up in the shadows, on the floor of the cafe. The battles he had endured with Nightbringer had fatigued him enough to pass out. He looks over to see that his new friend Bern had left and the same with Nightbringer his one true friend. Sitting up with his head pounding he looks for a familar face. He sees Riki and slowly crawls toward her. "Hey Riki... where did everybody go? ugh! ... Damn my head hurts! ... Wheres Bern and Nightbringer?" He crawls into a chair next to Riki and sets his head down.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"I don't know. I went outside for a while. Have a little too much to drink?" Grinning evilly, she bangs the table next to his head.
"I wouldn't do that. He's rather testy when he has a 'hangover.'" Nightbringer purrs from the doorway. She's back, having finished in her wanderings to check in with Dom. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Ahhh! Damn you!" Dom grabs his head and slowly looks up. He finally notices Night is back and trys to regain control over his head. "Ugh!... I wasn't drinking, you know that Night! I must have gone unconcious from the fight we had. Hey do you know where Bern is?"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Night's tail swishes back and forth on the floor. "No. He left quite some time ago."
Riki regards Night sourly. "Doesn't that thing freak you out?" |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Thank you Night. What's wrong with Bern, Riki? I like Bern eh?" Starting to regain strength he is able to hold his head up again.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Well...he's not human. Hell, he's not even a demon. He's a gargoyle. Aren't they ruthless and kill for pleasure?"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"I guess so... im not quite sure. I've really never heard anything about gargoyles before. I mostly followed elves and demons and all those mythical creatures. Bern is the first gargoyle i've ever met eh?"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"I see. Sounds like you've lived an interesting life. I guess," she says as much to herself as to Dominic, "mine hasn't been all that bland either. I rode on a dragon, helped save the world, fell in love with a Chaos messenger..."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Ahh the usual i see!" Dom laughs and smiles at Riki. Soon after getting a mild pain in his head. "Yes my life has been..... interesting, in a way, I guess you might say. Right, Night?"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Night purrs. "I'd say it has been." She stretches in her catlike manner and jumps onto one of the barstools, balancing perfectly, despite the wings and tail.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Ugh! My head still hurts a little!... So yeah, a little bio about me eh? I was an orphan living with my grandmother who died in front of me. Lived with my best friend who betrayed me and left with my absolute favorite possesion and will kill for it... my car. Got stuck in the woods where i met Night. Got back home and someone stole all my belongings and finally left to find an adventure!"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Riki laughs. "Quite the dangerous and harrowing life you've lead so far, my young friend. So you're looking for an adventure? Well, you usually never have to look far to find one here at Tri-Link's Cafe. Most of the time, walking to and back from the bar is an adventure in itself."
Night purrs her agreement and jumps off the barstool. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Your right there my friend! .... By the way, how long have i been out?" Examining the cuts and scrapes on his body he leans back in his chair to relax.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"A couple of days. Sorry I didn't better accomadate you on a couch or anything...I was preoccupied and thought your pet cat would take care of it." Riki doesn't quite realize the mistake in her words. Standing next to Dominic, Nightbringer's body tenses and stiffens, the fur along her back rising as she bares her fangs. Riki doesn't notice it, since she is taking a drink from her wine glass and not looking down at the experiment.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Wow! ... Oooh Night is NOT my pet! She is my friend. Niether of us controls the other eh?" Dom leans back even more and quickly waves his hands as he loses balance and falls backward. "Ugh!"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Dom lands on Night's tail. She hisses, in bad mood, and roughly shoves him off. Snarling, the cat stalks off to mope in a corner and nurse her pride.
Riki offers Dom a hand. "You alright there?" |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Yeah im fine! It's not the first time thats happened!" Dom laughs and gets up. "Sorry about that Night! Hows your tail?"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Night snarls and curls up in a little ball. "My tail is still functional." But it wasn't in the big cat's personality to stay mad long. After a few moments, she stretches and goes back over to Dominic and Riki.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Dom lifts Void with his spell and carefully places Void on the table. He then begins inspecting the spikes on the ball. Trying to get any dried blood off of them and sharpening the spikes with a stone he had in his pocket.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
The back room door opens up, and Tor heads out. He's evidently been spending all this time cleaning himself up, but still comes out looking a scruffy mess. His jeans are torn and faded, while his once-white shirt is incredibly scruffy. The logo on it clearly reads 'Cry 'Havoc' and let slip the Dogs of War', but the 'c' might be a 'k' and the 'D' an 'M'.
He grabs a bottle of an indistinct substance and heads over to a window table, looking positively anxious about something |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Riki watches Tor come in. "What's your problem, Tor?" She glances back over at Dominic. "You sure you're feeling alright? You're looking a little green around the gills."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Yeah im fine! I guess the fall shook me up a bit. The reason im look this way is because of my spell... im concentrating." Dom demonstrates by lifting a cup off a table with his gravity magic.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Problem? Me? No-no, nothing. Well. Put it this way. You ever have one of those really eerie moments when you end up sharing a journey with someone who looks like you, talks like you, and could be really easily mistaken for you?
Hayate's been bugging me for a while. ¬_¬ |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Pax slouches groggily in his chair, reclining back in his seat and rocking forward and backward in a lazy, regular rythym while humming idle songs. "Daisy, Daisy.... Give me your answer, do... I'm half crazy, all for the love of you..." His song is interupted by a wide, sleepy yawn, one which reveals a jaw of less-than-human teeth. With a brief lick of his lips, he picks up the tune again, words slurred with fatigue. "It won't be a stylish marriage... I can't... Afford... A c... carri..." Within moments, the half-human is slumped in his chair and breathing deeply in his sleep.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Dom sets the glass that has been floating for some time now down on the table. He then makes a bottle of pepsi levitate with his gravity and he grabs it and pours himself a glass. "It's a nifty little trick! I learned it when i was little."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Riki grins and watches Dom's magic display with keen intrest as she answers Toryu. "I don't suppose you've seen your other half around lately, then."
Nightbringer watches the half-human with burning eyes before switching her attention to Dom's magic show. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"And next... I shall pull a rabbit out of my hat! ^^ So Night what have you been doing while i was sleeping?" Dom tips his head back and lets the drink slide into his mouth.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Meeting a half-dragon and vainly trying to convince it that turning into a human is not a prudent course to follow. He's sleeping over there." She gestures towards Pax with a wing. "What are we going to do now, Dominic? Wait around in this cafe until something happens our way?"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Not sure, what could we do?" He drinks the last of his soda and puts the cup back on the table.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Oh, but I have. That's somewhat the problem. And don't you ever make that comparison again. We're not the same.
It looks like Riki's hit a bit of a nerve there, but he swigs from the bottle before deciding to continue Met up with him a little while back, actually. We came to a little arrangement. Now, he's hardly the most socially adept person you're ever going to meet, is he? A little... gone in the head if you ask me. And I don't exactly have the greatest of control over all of this magic I can fire around. So we made a deal. I've always had a bit of a knack for wind magic, so he gave me a few hints in that department, while I helped him out with more social things. Then we pawned off some of the more interesting trinkets we've both found over a fair while. What bugs me is the fact I'm never sure if I've done the right thing. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Sounds interesting, Tor. Where was it you saw him? I'm looking for him." Riki leaves Dominic to take a seat across from Toryu. She studies him carefully.
"We could leave here...explore the world around here. It's a big place. I saw a map of it. Or we could stay here and wait." Night doesn't sound all that sure herself. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Was a few days ago now, plus we travelled a fair bit.
He fiddles in his pack for a bit, and pulls out a map of the country. After consulting it for a while, he draws a fairly large circle a long-ish way to the south of the cafe Must'a been around there, I think. He's probably moved on by now, neither of us are particulary big on hanging around one place too long. Why are you after him, anyway? |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"I've been looking for him ever since the end of Megiddo. He left me his sword. ((I refuse to call it by name out of fear of butchering the spelling.)) And...I love him, Tor." Riki blushes self conciously.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Im not sure Night. I think we should stick around for a bit and if nothing happens will go find an adventure." He reaches down and shakes Nights wings playfully.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
It's very hard to describe Tor's reaction. It might be a choking noise, a laugh, or possibly a massive coronary. Once he's sufficuently recovered and clambers back onto his chair, recognition seems to dawn
I thought he was being weird about something. I get the feeling he likes you too, but... well, he's not very good at letting things be known. Oh, you haven't actually used the Murasame, have you? 'S probably nothing, as Haitch is still alive, but you're aware it's not exactly a... um.. uncursed weapon? |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Night playfully whacks Dominic with her paw. "Cut it out, Dom, you loser human. I don't mind staying here for a while-for once, I'm not the weirdest thing around." She growls happily and continues to whack at Dom.
Riki glares at Tor. "Yes, I know it's not an 'uncursed weapon.' I just don't know what the curse is, exactly. So no, I haven't been using it. Besides, big heavy swords aren't really my style-I prefer battle axes and morning stars." |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
The door swings open and slams against the wall, a dark figure comes in the doorway. Bern enters "I guess i don't know my own strength! ^^" and sees Dom is awake and alive. He walks towards them. "Hello everyone."
"Oh, hey Bern! where have you been?" |
